The dam site is across the Valapattanam River, near Kuyiloor ( Kuyiloor puzha ).
This dam is near to the birth place of Pazhassi Raja. So the dam named after Raja. A visit to this
dam is really worth for who all are
interested in boating. Tourism Promotion Council boats are
available to navigate through the river. It is a beautiful spot with a good garden and an amusement .park nearby. On 6 th August 2012 Monday the dam which has overtopped following heavy rains in Kannur is in danger as water was flowing one meter above the crest of the dam.
